Prez congratulates ISRO for successful Chandrayaan I launch
Guwahati, Oct 22 (UNI) Expressing happiness over the successful launch of Chandrayaan I to the Moon today, President Pratibha Patil called it a landmark in the Indian space programme.
The President said it would inspire the scientists to work further on the Mission to put an Indian astronaut into the space in Indian space capsule.
In a message to Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) Chairman G Madhavan Nair, the President, who is here on a five-day visit to the North East region, congratulated Mr Nair and his team for the successful launch of Chandrayaan I.
Ms Patil said, ''I am keenly looking forward to the arrival of Chandrayaan I into lunar orbit a few days from now.'' The President will leave for Meghalaya this morning and return to New Delhi on Friday.
