NE Monsoon active over Kerala, rains in Lakshadweep

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22 (UNI) The North-East Monsoon has been active over Kerala and rain occurred at most places in Lakshadweep.

Kumarakam recorded the highest rainfall of 12 cm, followed by Paravoor (10 cm), Alappuzha (9 cm), and Chittur and Perumbavoor (8 cm each), the local weather office said here today.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Karippur Airport, Thiruvananthapuram Airport and Amini (6 cm each), CIAL-Kochi and Mankompu (5 cm each).

Alappuzha, CIAL-Kochi, Karippur airport and Kottayam recorded the highest maximum temperature of 31 Deg C, while Alappuzha and Karippur Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 22 Deg C, it said.

Rain or thundershowers would occur at most places in Kerala and in Lakshadweep. Heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely at isolated places in Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours, it added.
