Madurai: Quarters for HC staff soon
Madurai, Oct 22: Tamil Nadu Govt has finally sanctioned Rs.19.31 crore for the construction of residential quarters exclusively for the Madras High Court Bench staff. It wil be built on 3.67 acres land near the Maatuthavani bus terminus.
Of the 272 flats proposed to be constructed in three-storeyed buildings, 16 will be 'A" type houses, 48 'B" type, 112 'C" type and the rest 'D" type houses. The campus will also have a playground, park and other facilities. A Government Order issued by the Home (Courts III) Department on Friday stated that the construction work, originally planned to be undertaken by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, would now be entrusted with the Public Works Department.
According to sources in the High Court, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the multi-crore project will be held soon.
