K'taka Govt suspends Coproration Commissioner

Gulbarga, Karnataka, Oct 22 (UNI) The State Government today suspended Commissioner of Gulbarga Municipal Corporation S B Mudhol for negligence in discharging his duties.

Municipal Administration Minister Suresh Kumar today announced the suspension at Bangalore today.

On September 16, when the Minister carried out surprise visits at various places of the city, he was taken back at the unhygienic conditions and overflowing garbage in different parts of the city.

Wherever he went, the Minister was greeted by heaps of garbage, uncleared dustbins, clogged drains and overflowing sewerage.

The Minister had also received several complaints from public about poor sanitation and supply of drinking water.

The irate Minister, on the same day, suspended two the corporation officials, Dr Abhya Kumar and R P Jadhav, and issued showcause notice to the Corporation Commissioner for his lax 'attitude' in discharging his duties.
