Jaiswal appeals people to maintain peace
Kanpur, Oct 22 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal today appealed the people to maintain communal harmony and peace both in Uttar Pradesh as well as in other parts of the country.
Reacting sharply to the violent incidents in Maharashtra, Bihar and some other parts of the country, evoked after the recent attack on the North Indians by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Mumbai, Mr Jaiswal said violence was not a solution to any problem.
People have to be calm, as it could prove a panacea at this time, he maintained.
The Minister, however, out rightly denied that the Maharashtra government has glorified MNS president Raj Thackeray.
The Maharashtra government has adopted strict action against Mr Thackeray by arresting him, he said, adding, the maintenance of law and order was the subject of the state governments, which should also know the art of dealing with its political leaders.
