Idol worth Rs 5.5 cr seized, 2 held
Barabanki, Oct 22 (UNI) The Government Railway Police (GRP) today seized an ashtadhatu idol, costing Rs 5.5 crore in the international market, with the arrest of two people here.
The idol of God Vishnu, weighing around 5 kg, was recovered from Gwalior-Barauni express during checking by the GRP sleuths, police said.
The seized idol was robbed from a temple in Banda district one-and-a-half year back.
The arrested, residents of Fatehpur, divulged they were on way to sell the idol in Gonda district for Rs 75 lakh.
