HC orders builders to raze Leela Kunj themselves

Allahabad, Oct 22 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today directed the builders concerned to raze the illegal Leela Kunj Apartment by themselves before vacating it by December 31.

The demolition would be carried out from January 1, 2009 and would be completed by January 15.

A division bench comprising Justices Amitava Lala and A Tandon bench passed this order on a writ petition filed by Anand Kumar Pandey, one of the allotees of the apartment.

The petitioner and other allottees of the apartment had also given their undertaking for the building's demolition, subject to their refund of payment by the builders.

The court has directed for the payment to the residents by March 31.
