H P High Court grants bail to Ahluwalia
Shimla, Oct 22 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court today granted bail to Subhash Ahluwalia, principal private secretarty to former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, in a disproportionate assets case.
Justice Surinder Singh Thakur, while allowing bail application of Ahluwalia, directed him to furnish personal and surety bonds of Rs 20,000 each.
The Court also directed him to assist in investigation of the case and ensure his presence before the investigating officer as required. He has been further directed not to tamper with evidence.
An FIR under Section 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act has been lodged against Ahluwalia by the state Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau accusing him of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The former principal private sectretary was arrested by the Bureau on October 8.
Immediately after his arrest, he was hospitalised at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla.
