Discharge from Mettur dam suspended; level at 75.400 ft
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 22 (UNI) In view of continous rain in the catchment areas and delta regions, the discharge of water from the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur across River Cauvery was suspended since this morning.
However, for technical reasons a meagre 706 cusecs of water was released, PWD sources told UNI.
The level in the dam stood at 77.400 feet with an inflow of 16,324 cusecs this morning.
From the Grand Anaicut, discharge of water through River Cauvery and Vennar was also suspended, sources said adding 2,513 cusecs of water was released through Grand Anaicut Canal and 6,012 cusecs through Coleroon for irrigation.
