Delayed information will bring bad name to Govt: DMK leader
Puducherry, Oct 22 (UNI) Puducherry DMK convener and former Chief Minister R V Janakiraman today urged the administration to ensure that the schemes and announcements made by government reached the people on time.
In an apparent reference to the administration declaring holiday for all schools here yesterday after the schools commenced and several schools working as usual, Mr Janakiraman, in a statement said delayed informations and benefits of the schemes would not bring a good name to the government among the people.
He said the Chief Minister as well as the minister concerned should speed up the official machinery to provide the already announced bonus to the workers of textile mills, sugar mills and distilleries here.
The government should consider enhancement of wages of textile mills workers, disbursement of pending salary for daily-rated and part time employees of the administration.
Pointing out that the DMK-led coalition government headed by him had directly implemented the fiftyh pay commission recommendations and no commission was constituted, Mr Janakiraman said similarly, the present government should also take steps to implement the sixth pay commission recommendations for the nurses and teachers here.
