2 jailed for attack on residence of Tata Motors Marathi Head
Jamshedpur, Oct 22 (UNI) Two people have been arrested in case of yesterday's attack on the residence of Tata Heavy Vehicle unit's Maharashtrian head S B Borwankar here.
About 100 people had attacked the residence of Mr Borwankar in protest against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's recent attacks on north Indians and anti-Bihari statements given by party's chief Raj Thackeray.
Chief of Bhojpuri Sangha Anand Bihari Dube, the main accused named in the FIR, is still absconding, police said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhusudan Bari told UNI that in the FIR lodged by the security men at Mr Borwankar's residence, six people were named including Dube. Among them, Vijay Mukhi and Jaydeep Sengupta have been arrested and were sent to jail after being produced in the court of Chief Judicial Megistrate. Raids were being conducted to search for the other accused.
Police said about 100 people shouting anti-Raj Thackeray slogans attacked Mr Borwankar's residence at about 1530 hrs here yesterday.
The attackers destroyed property, but there were no reports of any injuries.
