1417 babies born in the relief camps in Bihar
Patna, Oct 22: In all, 1417 babies were given birth in the flood relief camps of Kosi region in north Bihar. Sources at the state's Health department said here that about 1417 babies were born in the camps till Oct 15. Among the babies 744 were boys and 673 girls.
The sources further said that the administration had made arrangements for better medical check ups and safe deliveries in the camps. Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced to provide financial help to the parents of the babies. The parents who were blessed by the baby boys would get Rs 10,000 while those who gave birth to the girls would get Rs 11,000 each.
The sources further mentioned that 807 kids were administered polio vaccine and 89 were given DPT.
