Under Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Affairs arrested for bribery
New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Under Secretary, Protector of Emigrants in the Ministry of Overseas Affairs, along with three others, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs two lakh.
The other three arrested are an Assistant of the accused and two others.
The accused demanded a bribe from the complainant for settlement of an enquiry against him with the CBI, said the agency today.
A trap was laid after the complainant approached the CBI.
Several incriminating documents were recovered during the searches conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused.
