RBI funtioning totally disrupted today

Mumbai, Oct 21 (UNI) The working of the Reserve Bank of India throughout the country was completely affected with the mass casual leave protest by RBI Officers and employees, demanding higher pension benefits.

In a joint release here, the United forum of various workers organisations of the Apex Bank said the strike was total with even Chief General managers and Regional Directors of the Bank participating in the strike. ''All out cessation of work in RBI today and spontaneous response of all RBI staff sends a strong message to the RBI and Government of India that employees superannuation benefits is a very sensitive issue and they must talk with the United forum to settle the issue amicably as otherwise a prolonged turmoil will ensue,'' the release added.
