One more arrested in diamond robbery case

Phagwara, Oct 21 (UNI) One more accused in the Rs 1.75 crore diamond robbery case was today arrested, raising the total number of arrests to eight.

Phillaur DSP Rajinder Singh Sohal told mediapersons here this evening that the accused Bhupinder Singh was driving the taxi which was hired by the Mumbai based diamond merchant Vivesh Shah, who was robbed on October 9 night near Phillaur.

The accused has been sent in judicial remand for identification parade.

The DSP said that now only one of the total nine accused, Amandeep, cousin of SSP Vigilance Patiala Shiv Kumar Sharma, was absconding.
