Govt rejects CAG for audit TTD accounts

Tirupati, Oct 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Committee on Public Accounts (APLACPA) said the TTD Trust Board in its earlier board meeting had recommended to the state government to audit accounts through the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).

After conducting a review meeting with the TTD officials here, APLACAP Chairman Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that its committee earlier had recommended that the audit of TTD accounts must be entrusted to the CAG but the government has rejected the TTD trust board's plea and they again have submitted its recommendations to the government for consideration.

It had also asked the TTD to conduct concurrent audit in TTD-run Dharma Prachar Parishad (DPP) which is playing a key role in the propagation of hindu dharma among the society, he said.

The Committee which had asked the TTD earlier to submit a report on audit objections involving Rs 413 crores, the Chairman said that the TTD had submitted all the vouchers in one and half year time raised by auditor for crores of rupees.

The Committee had raised doubts over the fast submitting of vouchers for crores of rupees, recommending the government to constitute a committee to check up the vouchers which will be constituted in one or two months, the Chairman said.

To conduct more surgical operations to the needy and poor people under Pranadhanam scheme running by TTD , under the scheme having Rs 200 crore at present and it was needed to provide more funds to SVIMS for conduct of operations to the needy poor people, he also suggested .
