Court takes cognizance against former Chief Secretary of Jharkhand
Patna, Oct 21 (UNI) A local court today took cognizance against former Chief Secretary of Jharkhand P P Sharma in connection with a case relating to cheating and embezzlement of funds.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Raghvendra Kumar Singh took cognizance against Sharma after hearing his arguments and that of the prosecution.
The cognizance was taken under Sections 409,420,468, 471 and 120B.
According to the charges, Sharma misused his official position as Chairman of the Biscomaun and caused loss of the state exchequer in the purchase of fertiliser in 1988.
