Yahoo, Google, eBay to cut employees

Los Angeles, Oct 20: Internet service company Yahoo has also decided upon cutting employees due to global economic crisis. Yahoo would be announcing its quarterly results in the next week and some employees would also be losing their jobs next week, said an official of Yahoo. "At present there are 14,300 employees working in Yahoo. The company had terminated around 1000 employees in Jan. Some more employees will be terminated in the next week," said sources.

Online auction and sale site, eBay has also declared that the company would be terminating 10 pc of its 16,000 employees in October. Google Inc has also plans of terminating contract-based employees. There are 30,000 employees working in Google of which, 10,000 employees are on contract. The specific number of contract-based employees has still not been declared by Google.
