Muslims want minority bashing to end

Varanasi, October 20, 2008 : A large Muslim congregation in Varanasi accused the authorities of allegedly targeting the community as militants on Sunday.

India has suffered a wave of bombings in recent years, with targets ranging from mosques and Hindu temples to trains. But few groups have come forward to claim responsibility for the attacks. At least 52 organizations and a number of Muslim clerics participated and expressed their views in the congregation.
