Student commits suicide

Puducherry, Oct 20 (UNI) A student of an ITI at Kanniyakoil near here allegedly committed suicide by hanging in a school premises at Veerampatinam here last night.

Accordingt to police Murugan (18) a first year student of the ITI was abstaining from classes for a few days. The head of the institute informed his parents. Murugan's parents scolded him for his act, following which he allegedly committed suicide. His body was found this morning. Ariyankuppam police sent the body to the government general hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, a real estate owner allegedly consumed poison in Nettapakkam police station here.

Prabhakar(58) of Pandacholanallur lodged a complaint with the Orleanpet police that a gang tried to abduct him.However, there was no action from the police. As the gang attmpted to kidnap him two more times and the police failed to take any action, Prabhakar went to the police station and lodged a complaint that last night also the gang had come to his house. He consumed the poison he brought along with him.

He was rushed to the Nettapakkam primary health centre and later shifted to the government general hospital where he was admitted.
