Select edible oils, seeds drop

Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) Prices of key oil seeds and oils today drifted low on sustained selling pressure by stockists, in view of discouraging advice from upcountry markets, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oilseeds (per quintal), groundnut and niger seed eased by Rs 50 and Rs 25 per quintal respectively, on poor buying support by stockists. However, javas 60/70, javas 70/80 and javas 80/90 remained steady on scattered buying by bulk consumers.

In oils (per ten kg), sunflower exp ref, rapeseed refined dropped Rs five and Rs 10 per ten kg respectively, on renewed offers by stockists in the face of larger stocks supply from producing centres mainly Gujarat and southern regions. RBD palm oil remained flat.

In de-oiled cakes, soyameal 48 per cent surged by Rs 350 Per Metric Tonne (PMT) on better buying support by dealers, traders added.
