Rupee opens high at 48.72/USD

Mumbai, Oct 20: On Monday, Oct 20 Indian Rupee opened strongly at 48.72 against per US dollar, with a big gain of 18 paise from last weekend close of 48.88, due to influx of dollars in the domestic market. Later it fluctuated between 48.70 and 48.86 in the mid-session.

Dealers said Rupee strengthened on hopes of capital inflows into local shares, with some dollar weakness against other major currencies overseas also helping the sentiments.
