Rahul Gandhi to launch membership drive in Bihar

Patna, Oct 20 (UNI) Congress National general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi will launch membership drive in Bihar and constitute fund to help the weaker sections of society next month.

Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Anil Sharma said here today that Mr Gandhi was striving to strengthen the party in the state, and for the purpose continuous membership drive will begin in November.

''Under the drive, every activist of the party, right from its state president, will have to rope in at least one person in the party by making him its member,'' he asserted.

He added that a special fund would be constituted to extend financial help to the committed party workers and the weaker sections of society in the hour of their need.

''The party will contest the coming Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the constituent unit of the UPA,'' he added.
