Pakistan using terrorism to destabilise Indian economy: BJP
Chhapra, Oct 20 (UNI) Describing terrorism as a proxy war by neighbouring conuntries, BJP in-charge of Bihar Kalraj Mishra alleged that Pakistan, instead of waging a direct war, was using terrorism to destablise Indian economy.
Addressing the concluding session of the two-day convention of the party's working committee here yesterday, Mr Mishra said Pakistan had changed its tactics and the UPA government was well aware of the fact.
He alleged that the Centre was ignoring the serious issue for the sake of its vote bank.
Discussing serious fallouts of the unabated Bangladeshi infiltration, Mr Mishra said the illegal immigrants were getting their names included in the voters list to gain advantage from the Public Distribution System cards.
Such practices would adversly affect the Indian economy by weakening it, he said.
Speaking on the global economic meltdown and subsequent share market crash, he said even though Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P.Chidambaram were well-known economists, the sensex nosedived forcing some people to commit suicide.
The BJP leader further alleged that the UPA government was trying to divide the nation on the lines of communalism and the recent statement of the Prime Minister of giving priority to the minorities was an open testimony of the Centre's intentions.
Instead of according priorities to the minorities, the Prime Minister should have announced that 25 crore people living below poverty line (BPL), irrespective of caste, be given priority on resources, he argued.
Mr Mishra exhorted the BJP activists to shun their differences and strive unitedly to bring the NDA back to power in Lok Sabha elections.
