Land acquisition for project to be completed by January 2009

Kannur, Oct 20 (UNI) The land acquisition for the proposed Kannur Airport will be completed by January next, Kerala Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said today.

Addressing a review meeting here, he said the process was progressing and the Government would acquire 1,092 acre of land in January 2009.

Speaking in the meeting, Airport Special Officer V Thulasi Das said 74 per cent of the investment for the airport would be made through private sector.
