Koirala miffed at Maoists for 'not recognising' his contribution
Kathmandu, Oct 20 : Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala today expressed dissatisfaction against the Maoists for trying to diminish his role after the political transformation in the country.
Speaking at a function organised by party's foreign relation department here, Koirala said the Maoist leaders didn't give due recognition to the contribution he made to the country's political transformation.
Responding to the call made by the Maoist and the UML leaders to the Nepali Congress to participate in the government, Koirala reiterated that his party would not join the government, but would play constructive role in a new writing Constitution.
He said that the Nepali Congress played important role in shaping the democratic political history Nepal.
Koirala also said that the national army should not be politicised in the name of army integration
"The army cannot be politicised as it does not prefer any particular political party. Theoliticisation of the army will inflict bad effects to the country, he added, Nepal news reported.
