Key metals gain
Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) Key metals in ferrous and non-ferrous category advanced today on sustained heavy buying support from industrial users coupled with bullish advice from London Metal Exchange along with Delhi, Kolkata and others centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In ferrous metals, copper heavy and copper utensils surged by Rs Rs 100 and Rs 800 per quintal respectively, on renewed buying support by stockists. But brass utensils and its cuttings declined by Rs 200 each on larger stocks at the domestic markets.
In non-ferrous metals, copper wire bars moved up by Rs 100 per quintal to end at Rs 34,700, on fresh demand by stockists.
Nickel cathode slab also soared by Rs 15 to finish at Rs 745 per kg, while lead ingots gained by Rs 500 to end at Rs 10,000 per quintal, on fresh speculative demand from industrial users induced by firm advice from global and upcountry markets.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 31,500, copper utensils - Rs 28,900, brass utensils - Rs 23,300, brass cuttings - Rs 23,900 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,100.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 34,700, aluminium ingots - Rs 12,400, zinc slab - Rs 8,200, lead ingots - Rs 10,000, tin slab - Rs 830 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 745 per kg.
