Dengue-like cases in Akola; survey ordered

Akola, Maharashtra, Oct 20 (UNI) Denying outbreak of any 'epidemic' in the district, the administration here ordered survey of private hospitals and nursing homes to determine the number of cases of a 'dengue-like' fever.

The health department has been asked to conduct the survey and submit a report to the administration, official sources told UNI.

The instructions were issued after some cases of suspected dengue were reported to have been admitted to hospitals in the district, they said.

Meanwhile, blood samples of the patients admitted had been sent for analysis to the virology laboratory in Pune, the sources said.
