Cong screening committee considers names for Delhi Assy seats

New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) The screening committee of the Congress to select candidates for the November 29 Assembly polls here, today considered names of possible candidates for about 48 Assembly seats.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Jai Prakash Agarwal said names of candidates were considered by the committee comprising party General Secretary and Delhi in-charge Ashok Gehlot, screening committee head Mohsina Kidwai, Mr V K Hariprasad, Jagmit Brar and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Mr Agarwal said the committee will meet again tomorrow to consider names of candidates for the remaining Assembly seats.

Party sources said the names of candidates for about 30 seats of the Delhi Assembly have almost been finalised.

Mr Agarwal has expressed confidence that the final list of the candidates for the Assembly polls in Delhi will be announced by the end of this month.
