Cong-MTP talks meet into dead end
Aizawl, Oct 20 (UNI) Talks for seat sharing between the Mizoram Pradesh Congress and the newly floated Mipui Tangrual Pawl(MTP) for the November 29 Assembly polls have failed.
''Our talks (on pre-poll alliance) have failed to bear fruits.
However, since the Congress has approved our policies for a good governance, we will ensure that if elected, the Congress fulfils the policies,'' MTP chairman K Sapdanga said here today.
''Our policies matter most. Even if we don't contest the polls it's ok so far as we see a change,'' Mr Sapdanga said.
The MTP had demanded five seats, including four in Aizawl city, to form a pre-poll alliance with the Congress.
Political pundits said the Congress could not consider the MTP's demands owing to fear of infighting because the demanded constituencies had been eyed by the party stalwarts.
As the talks failed, the MTP had no intention to contest in the assembly elections.
Political parties in Mizoram were currently scrutinising the names of aspirants.
