Chattisgarh naxal attack leaves seven CRPF personnel dead
Raipur, Oct 20 : Naxalites allegedly killed at least seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on Monday.
The attack took place at around 1.30 P.M. between Modukpal and Kongupalli in the district.
According to reports, one of the attackers was also killed in the exchange of fire that followed.
The ultras allegedly fired upon the personnel belonging to the 170 Battalion of CRPF, who were on a road opening duty.
The troops have been deployed in the area to provide security to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel.
A counter offensive to flush out the naxals, suspected to be hiding in the vicinity, has been launched by the CRPF.
