BSE Sensex opens above 10k; Nifty at 3,122
Mumbai, Oct 20: The market has seen a surge following positive Asian markets on Monday, Oct 20. Buying is seen in banking, realty, metal, capital goods and technology stocks. At 9.58 am, the Sensex jumped 199.81 points to 10,175 and the Nifty rose 48 points to 3,122. BSE Midcap gained by 0.41 pc to 3,559.43. Zee Entertainment, ICICI Bank, Wipro, ACC, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, HUL, HDFC, ITC, Infosys, L&T, Jaiprakash Associates, ONGC, Reliance Communication, Reliance Infrastructure, Sterlite Industries, Tata Motors, TCS, Tata Steel and Satyam have gained.
However, SBI, NTPC, Maruti Suzuki, BHEL and Grasim are under pressure.
