TN: BJP supports protest against power cuts
Coimbatore, Oct 20: Protesting the power cuts for Low Tension (LT) consumers, the Trade and Industry Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed support to the Oct 22 strike called by the industry in Coimbatore.
The cell"s State Observer S R Seghar has said that a public interest litigation petition would be moved in the High Court against the 'discrimination' in load-shedding. Seghar said it was unfair to impose power cut for many hours in many parts of the State and limit it to one or two hours in areas such as Chennai. When industries in places like Coimbatore reeled under long hours of power cut, the Government ensured proper supply to multi-national companies. “We condemn this special treatment to multi-national companies," he said.
