Patna, Oct 20 (UNI) The Bihar government is likely to impose cess on big retail outlets, community halls, auditoriums and health clubs to augment revenue collection.
Addressing the review meeting of state commercial department here today, deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said a proposal in this regard was under serious consideration of the state government.
'' In recent times, the business of community halls, auditoriums and health clubs have increased manifold and their owners were charging hefty amounts from the customers,'' Mr Modi said and added that the state government would formulate regulations to check exploitation of the people and impose cess on such business establishments.
He lamented that despite handsome earnings by such business establishments not a single penny was being contributed to the state exchequer.
