Work permit should be made compulsory in Meghalaya: BJPYM

Shillong, Oct 19 (UNI) The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Manch (BJPYM) has asked the Meghalaya Progressive Alliance government to make work permits mandatory for labourers in the state.

In a statement issued here, the BJPYM also asked for the immediate implementation of the multi-purpose identity cards proposed by the then BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

Urging the traditional institutions to frame laws to identify illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, the youth wing demanded for total economic boycott of the infiltrators.

The statement added that the BJPYM members would also meet Governor R S Mooshahary and Chief Minister Donkupar Roy and apprise them of the problem.
