Vidya Prasarak-Ichikawa sign MoU for teaching Japanese
Thane, Oct 19 (UNI) A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was today signed by the city-based Vidya Prasarak Mandal and the Ichikawa Japanese Language Institute, Japan, for teaching Japanese language to Indian students.
The centre for foreign languages, situated in the campus of the Vidya Prasarak Mandal here, which has been teaching French since the last about one year, added one more language to its list by including Japanese.
Dr Vijay Bedekar, chairman of the Mandal, while speaking on the occasion, urged the students of the management and other faculties to learn at least one foreign language which would go a long way in getting them better job opportunities abroad.
Mr Yamaguchi Hiroshi, chairman of the institute, said there were at least 50 Japanese companies in Mumbai and demand of people with knowledge of Japanese is increasing day-by-day.
''I wish this language will produce excellent Japanese knowing professionals who will leave their nest from this financial capital of India in search of new horizons,'' he added.
