Tension prevails over VCK's flag-post removal

Puducherry, Oct 19 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Soalinagar here following the removal of a flag-post of the Viduthalai Chiruthaighal Katchi (VCK) last night.

VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan was to hoist the party flag on that flag-post tomorrow. But, a section of the people opposed it.

In the meantime, some miscreants removed the flag-post.

About 200 party activists gathered at the site of the post demanded that police find out the miscreants. A complaint was lodged with the police. In this regard some VCK activists reportedly had in an altercation with the police.

Following this, a peace talk was held at Muthialpet police station, in which it was decided that the VCK could erect a flag-post in the area, but in a manner without affecting the public.
