Scribes submit memorandum to INTUC, demand interim relief
Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) A five-member delegation of Bihar Working Journalists Union (BWJU) today submitted a memorandum to Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) president G Sanjeeva Reddy, demanding 30 per cent interim relief and other benefits.
The memorandum, submitted to Mr Reddy, included the demands for immediate notification regarding payment of 30 per cent interim relief to journalists and non-journalists working in media houses and news agencies.
Appointment of Chairman of Wage Board for journalists and non-journalists, Assured Career Promotion(ACP) and increase of their retirement age from 58 to 60 were among the other demands of the BWJU.
Justice K Narayan Kurup had resigned from the post of the Wage Board President, and appointment must be made replacing him in the interest of the media persons, the memorandum pointed out.
The delegation was headed by BWJU general secretary Arun Kumar, vice-president Binay Kumar, former general secretaries Ravi Upadhyaya and Amarmohan Prasad and state executive committee member Anil Kumar.
