SAP jawan killed in encounter with Maoists
Gaya, Oct 19 (UNI) A jawan of Special Auxiliary Police(SAP) was today killed in an encounter with proscribed CPI(Maoist) at a locality under Madanpur-Dumaria police station in the district.
District Police Superintendent R Mallar Vij said here that acting on a tip off, a raid was conducted in forest area of Tarchua and Dhakpahari localitites leading to encounter with Maoist guerillas.
'' A jawan of SAP, Ashok Kumar Jha, was killed during the encounter with mthe guerillas, '' the Police Superintendent said adding massive combing operation had been launched in the area to nab the Maoist activities.
Three rifles, a self-automatic rifle, a large number of live cartridges had been recovered from the spot during the search operation.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Magadh Range) Praveen Rasheed was camping at the spot to monitor the search operation.
