Prime Minister will have to give answer: Yechury
Nashik, Oct 18 (UNI) Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Sitaram Yechury today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will have to give reply on the Indo-US nuclear deal in the Parliament.
''The Prime Minister had assured of discussion in Parliament before going to the IAEA and meeting the leaders of Nuclear Suppliers Group,'' Mr Yechury said in an interaction with journalists in Malegaon today.
''Mr Singh had also assured the same thing before implementing the nuclear deal. We thought he would follow these promises but he did not. Before understanding the opinion of the Parliament, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice signed the deal. The Prime Minister will have to answer the Parliament about this,'' he said.
The CPI-M leader earlier visited Malegaon, where a bomb had exploded on September 29. He also met the kin of the victims and the injured on the occasion.
