One dies as LPG tanker caught fire in MP
Bhopal, Oct 19: One person was charred to death as a LPG-laden tanker was caught fire after it overturned near Midghat on Bhopal-Nagpur National Highway in Sihore district about 55 km from here late last night, police said on Sunday, Oct 19.
Police said the driver of the tanker, which was on its way to Baitul after filling up LPG from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) at Vijaypur in Guna district, lost control and the vehicle turned turtle as its tyre was punctured.
The tanker set ablaze immediately and the driver Dinesh Singh, died on the spot. The fire was also spread in the nearby jungle.
Police rushed to the accident spot and fire tenders took several hours to douse the flame.
Movement of traffic on the national highway was badly affected following the accident as the road on both side was blocked. A long queue of traffic was seen on both side of the road, police said adding that the traffic movement would likely to be resumed this afternoon.
