Manipur Police raising day observed
Imphal, Oct 19: Manipur Police raising day was observed today here at the 1st Manipur Rifles ground.
Large number of arms and ammunition seized from militants were displayed at the ground.
The achievements of Manipur Police were also highlighted through a photo exhibition.
Manipur Governor Gurchanchan Jagat was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion the Governor lauded the role of police in its fight against terrorism.
'' There should be a good coordination between police, armed forces and paramilitary'', he said.
He also appreciated police for their help in civil administration.
The Director General of Police (DGP) Y Joykumar, on the occasion appealed militant groups to come forward for peaceful co-existence in the state.
The first newsletter of Manipur Police was released and policemen were also conferred various awards on the occasion.
