Srinagar, Oct 19 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned Rs 34 lakh for setting up walnut processing plant at the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.

Official sources today said that Single Window Clearance Committee sanctioned the processing plant Rs 34 lakh to boost walnut production in Kupwara district.

They said that the district is famous all over the country for walnut and kernel production, as a result of which processing unit was being set up on priority in the district.

This will provide employment to 17 unemployed educated youth of the area.
