Four projects approved under CAD for Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 19 (UNI) The Inter-Ministerial sanctioning Committee (IMC) of Union Ministry of Water Resources has approved four projects under Command Area Development (CAD) for Jammu and Kashmir to bring 40,356 hectares of land under Water management activities.
Official sources said the Jammu and Kashmir government had recommended and forwarded four projects to the Government of India for considering them for approval.
During the meeting with the IMC, presentation for seeking approval was made by the state representatives and approval to all the recommended projects was accorded by the committee.
These new projects have been approved for an estimated cost of Rs 107.39 crore.
The work on these projects will be taken up during next fiscal year and the projects will be completed within five years.
It is expected that on completion of these projects, an area of about 40,356 hectares in Jammu and Kashmir divisions will be brought under CAD and water management activities.
