Four killed in house collapse in TN

Virudhunagar, Oct 19 (UNI) Four members of a family, including a three-year-old girl, were crushed to the death when their house collapsed due to heavy rains at Sattur near here early today.

Police sources said the victims were identified as K Mariyammal (70), A Anusiya (28) and her daughter A Jaya Bharathy (3), and their relative M Daisy (45).

However, another two-year-old girl had a miraculous escape, the sources added.

Due to heavy rains in the last two days, the house, which was in a dilapidated condition, collapsed. All the family members were sleeping when the incident occurred at 0530 hrs.

The bodies of the victims were sent to the Government Hospital for a postmortem. Senior revenue and police officials rushed to the spot.
