Beat Constable shot at by 3 motorcycle-borne men

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) A beat Constable of Kalyanpuri Police Station was allegedly fired at by three men on a motorcycle when he tried to stop their speeding vehicle early today.

Sridhar Geete, patrolling on Block '8' in Khichripur area, was shot at by one of the three motorcycle-borne men when he tried to stop them at about 0030 hrs, according to the police.

The 'attack' came after Geete tried to stop their speeding motorcycle and a scuffle ensued following an argument.

Soon after, one of the three shot him with a pistol injuring him.

In retaliation Geete fired a shot at the accused trying to flee.

The bullet hit Manoj who has been arrested.

While Geete has been admitted to Bablaji Hospital, Manoj was taken to the GTB Hospital for medical attention.

Investigations were on, police added.
