Bajrang Dal not behind violence in Orissa-Karnataka: Convenor
Jaipur, Oct 19 (UNI) The Bajrang Dal today clarified that its activists were not behind the violence and arson at places of worship and some congregations in Orissa and Karnataka.
Talking to mediapersons here today, Dal National Convener Prakash Sharma said the Dal activists had not committed such incidents and that these were the fallout of social reaction to killing of Hindu Sant Swami Laxmananand Saraswati and distribution of a book with offending references against Hindu deities, during prayer meets.
Mr Sharma said at least one Muslim, one Christian and a few people with Congress' links were found indulged in these incidents.
He said Bajrang Dal did not believe in violence and ridiculed the demand from certain political parties and Union Ministers for ban on Bajrang Dal and said the Government had no grounds to enforce such ban.
