Three killed, two injured in road accident

Vijayawada, Oct 18 (UNI) Three people, including two brothers were killed and two others injured when a car in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a lorry near Reddygudem, 50 km from Guntur, early today.

Police said five people were on their way to Nellore from Hyderabad to attend a marriage function when the mishap occurred.

They were running a business in Hyderabad.

Two died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Government General Hospital, where the injured had been admitted.

The deceased were identified as Siva(28), Suresh(23). The identity of another deceased was yet to be identified.

The condition of the injured was reported to be stable.

Traffic came to a halt for about three hours on the Narketpalli-Guntur Highway following the accident, police added.
