Sugar prices rise
Navi Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) Sugar prices rose today on brisk buying support from stockists, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association (BSMA) said.
Prices of small and medium grade sugar advanced by Rs 25 and Rs six per quintal respectively, on reduced stock supply from bulk consumers, traders said.
In ex-mill grade, small and medium grade sugar shot up by Rs 10 and Rs 30 per quintal respectively, on sustained demand by stockists, traders added.
Following were the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,735/1,780, medium grade: Rs 1,772/1,845, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,720/1,740 and medium grade: Rs 1,750/1,800.
