SP leader visits Dhule, Malegaon
Nashik, Oct 18 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh visited the riot-hit Dhule and bomb blast affected Malegaon towns today.
He was accompanied by Maharashtra SP chief Abu Azmi. Police had served a notice to these two leaders, barring them from making provocative speeches.
Mr Singh termed the Dhule riots ''shameful''.
He also apologised for the attack on journalists in a programme held in New Delhi yesterday, where he was present. In the attack, six journalists were injured.
Mr Singh also criticised Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil saying that the latter was from Maharashtra and the work of his department should be on par with the high standard of living he maintained, he quipped.
